I always convert GCCI points to airline miles (5000 to 1000 and sometimes there's a special of 5000 to 1250). In fact I often opt to collect airline miles instead of GCCI points, depending on length of stay or value of total hotel bill. If only one night, it generally pays to switch preference to airline miles. If longer stay, switch back to points preference.
