How does UA make a 757 magically "appear" ?

UA365 (ORD-SNA) on 1/12 was canceled. Equipment is a 757.

However, all 757 flights operated out of SNA (to SFO, DEN, and ORD) all operated normally.

So, where did they get the extra 757? Did one RON in SNA?

IIRC, UA65 (SNA-SFO) operated by a 757 on 1/9 was cancelled, but all 757 flights into SNA operated normally on 1/9.

Can I assume that a 757 somehow went MX in SNA on 1/9 and was just recently repaired at SNA and went flew out on a scheduled flight today (hence today's 757 cancellation into SNA)?
