Didn't word it clearly enough. What I plan to do is use AAdvantageEshopping.com to get 15K more points (it's not that hard to do if you buy stuff from vendors where you get 3:1 through the shopping portal. My alltime best, though, is 8:1 last December using Drugstore.com through AAdvantage and using a Mastercard...it'll take me a year to get through all the papertowels and other household goods I bought that day...)

Then, when I have a total of 24K or so points in Mom's account, I'll log in and book an award ticket for myself (or another family member) using her account. Hot damn, just found this on aa.com:

You can have an award issued to someone other than yourself. Once award tickets have been issued, they cannot be transferred to someone else
