I need someone to help me solve a mystery that has bothered me for a number of years and also confirming I am a nosey b@st@rd.

What is happening at check in when people (almost always the person infront of me) take literally 15-20 mins to check in.

As often as not it is a person on their own rather than a family (who I assume are looking for specific seating).

My average check in takes 2-3 mins - half of which I spend trying to suss out why the person next to me is having issues...
