I got the free BMI MC in 2004 and collected my 20,000 welcome bonus then and have been quite happily collecting my DC points since which compliment by actual BMI mileage quite nicely. If I now want the additional AX 20,000 bonus of the new free card and I am not bothered about retaining my MC, can I not just close the MC account thus terminating my customer relationship with MBNA and then reapply a month or so later via BMI for the AX then be within the MNBA rules on such and be eligible for the AX bonus mileage?^or
