Geez, you'd think Pele would leave those poor people alone by now. I've visited Royal Gardens and hiked to the ocean entry points through the remnants of the subdivision. There are still a couple houses, including one which was quite nice - and quite a few folks living in trailers, tents and other temporary structures to remain bonded with their property.
I hope the fingers works its way through without touching anything habitable.
