I'm also looking forward to the new Westin. Even more than that, I'm looking forward to the upcoming Westin Snowmass.
The Park Hyatt is running above $539. The Ritz is sold out for some of our nights and looks to be above $700 for the available nights.
The Comfort Inn is under $170, but I expect the Sheraton to be a worthwhile step up from that.
In March 2005 after spending two promo award nights at the St Regis Aspen, we spent 3 nights at the Lodge and Spa at Cordillera for just $140 on a short notice promo from snow.com. We loved it and its private lounge at the BC base. In fact, we liked it more than the St Regis in a number of ways. Alas, Cordillera is now running it's usual $300+.
There are some other condos in the area for not much more than the Sheraton, but nothing phenomenal sticks out.
Among the high end hotels, I'm not expecting any bargains. We're going during the most expensive time of the year (other than perhaps the major holidays).
For $274 is a 1400 sqft 2BR condo at
Lakeside Terrace. This is another SVO property, but it can't be booked through Starwood. Expedia handles room reservations there. Tempting, though we don't really need a second bedroom.
