My guess is there are LOTS of planes that overnight outside NL in Europe. It is crucial for bringing in pax who connect to flights to North America, which leave early in the day. It's also perfect because then those planes are then pefectly positioned to return with the incoming pax from NOAM. It makes perfect sense. The same is true for AF planes overnighting outside France.
