I, erm, love Heathrow?

I've said the same thing a few times in the past year. The hour-long wait I had for my bag on Tuesday morning isn't much worse than the
shortest wait I've ever had (in over ten arrivals) at T4 MAD. On the other hand, there are airports which are consistently much better, many in so-called less-developed countries (e.g. Brazil, Singapore), perhaps simply because unskilled manual labour is so much cheaper there.
As for immigration, the longest queues (in terms of time taken) when I arrived were the Fast-Track queue and the IRIS queue. The UK/EU queue was moving very fast and the RoW queue didn't exist at all - there were free desks. But this may be because the great unwashed from back of the 747 that I'd just arrived on (at a very near gate) were still getting off the plane.
Incidentally, can a UK/EU passenger get in the RoW queue? It would make sense to be allowed to do so, and on Tuesday morning at 0710 would have been faster.
