As for the credit card, I submitted in on the 8th, and per my phone conversation with them over the phone an hour ago, it was approved on the 9th. Amtrak will reconcile the points on the 10th, 8,000 not 5,000, and it will get to me in 5-7 mailing days. Not bad at all, although the operator did indicate they were having problems with Amtrak doing their end of the job in the past, which did hold a lot of good applications up until they rectified the problem.
