Thumbs up Huge upgrade on a recent stay

I had a one night visit here a few days ago. I am a Platinum member. They didn't have a non-smoking upgrade available for me. I told the check-in agent that was fine, a standard non-smoking room (ideally on a refurbished floor) would be just fine. She said, "Just a minute," and walked away.

She came back and said, "I've got you something I think you'll enjoy," and handed me my keys.

It was an enormous one bedroom suite in a half-circle shape, with windows all the way around. It had a living room w/ a 60-ish inch plasma screen, bar, dining/poker table & two bathrooms, with a jacuzzi tub in the master bath, which opened out into the living room (). It was at the very end of a hall, with a view toward the side of the Paris Hotel. Looking to the left, I could see about half of the Bellagio fountains.

The room was a bit over-the-top funky (go figure -- in Vegas). Reminded me of a Hotel Monaco on steroids, though in the PH purple & gold motif.

I was only there for one night, and only a few hours at that, so it's not as though I used much other than the bed & bathroom, but I was impressed with the check-in agent's desire to take care of me as a SPG Platinum member. ^

As I've said before, I like this hotel quite a lot since the refurbishment. The rooms are nice, the beds are very nice and the casino area is classy and not over-the-top overwhelming as the majority of them are. It's also in a great location on the strip. I haven't been back to the Westin since this property has been converted.
