That is good to know that AA record locator works on BA. I also notice the first leg of IB now has seat assignments.
With *Star award you need to get partner airlines record locators to have them locate the reservations. Each time the itinerary changed, if UA failed to re-issue the ticket, the partners would see you being UNTICKETED. I found that out by a very friendly Air NZ agent that UA never re-ticketed us even after 3 changes. She went like this, "you may want to remind your travel agent to issue the tickets because right now all you have is the reservation, but not ticket." I was going like this,
