The only two airlines that I know of that still have them are NW and UA. The OP may consider buying a travelocity last minute deal (many leave on Wednesday) and just pay the $100 change fee if she can't return next week.

I bought one of these for a funeral (and on July 4 weekend no less) and it worked out well.
