If I purchase a ROUND TRIP ticket for $500.00 cash, take my starting leg but decide that I'm not going to take my return, shouldn't I expect to be able to get a refund for $250.00?

The ticket was sold as round trip not trip there $375.00 and trip back as $125.00, or am I missing something?
