Do Not Personalize Posts
Folks,
I have spent a good part of the day to day removing personal attacks, instructions to other posters on how to post, orders to other posters on how to post, etc.
So far, I have done this by editing posts, but as this has now been going on quite steadily for over 24 hours, the moderation team will have to issue warnings and suspensions to those posters who continue to post in this manner.
It does not matter if you agree with another poster. It does not matter if you think the other poster is "rude". It does not matter if you like another posters posting style.
Different FlyerTalk members have different posting styles.
As long as their posts follow the FlyerTalk Terms of Service (TOS), they will be allowed to remain. Feel free to argue with the posts, but not attack the poster.
If you feel that a post violates the TOS, then either:
a) take your disagreements to PM; or
b) use the "Report Bad Post" function (the triangle with the exclamation point) to give the moderation team a heads up to look at it; or
c) place the user on ignore.
Calling out posters on posts, or making personal attacks on their character, intelligence, or anything else, will not be permitted to remain, and will be subject to the process laid out in the rules you agreed to when you signed up for FlyerTalk.
I hope that an air of civility can now return in those instances where it has gone missing.
