Mr. GG's snoring can rattle windows, so I sleep with ear plugs and that helps. I have an alarm clock that beeps progessively louder, so I know one of us will eventually hear it.

We use noise canceling headphones on the plane and that works really well. Neither of us sleeps well on planes, but the headphones take out a lot of the background noise (i.e., engine noise, crying babies, other snoring passengers).
