Maybe I am a pessimist, but I don't think this statement is overly encouraging for those that want flat beds. I would think that, if that was the direction they were going, they would just say that they were looking at various flat bed configurations.

Now, whether this is bad or good depends upon how creative and revolutionary this product really is. The one non-flat seat improvement that I can think of that might be a huge leap forward would be significant control over the tilt of the seat pan. Basically, something like a zero gravity chair. That would be something I would give a try, and could envision it being a great product, even without flat beds.
