No, since that would imply that the flight crew made a mistake, which never happens...

Of course we sometimes forget. ;-) Or sometimes we have reports from other aircraft or ATC indicating that the ride will get bad again, and we are leaving it on on purpose. You can always ask an FA if we know how much longer we might leave the sign on - that's a good way to ask if we've forgotten... we get calls from the FAs all the time if we've had the sign on for an extended period of time.
