Agree with Mia. The choice is not critical. Just avoid the last row (noise from J galley). I am also not a fan of 1D&G as it is too close to the front galley/toilets.
I have done both the 2 center and 2 sides with my wife.
The two center suites are about the same as sitting in D and G in J (with the empty E seat between you) as far as distance is concerned. In other words you can see each other… but you can’t touch each other and talking is awkward. One nice thing is the two seats will angle towards each other so visually everything you see is either you own or your spouses space. That is the two shared spaces still seem very private and removed from the rest of the passengers.
I still like having two side seats the best. It is one of the rare times you can have both an aisle and a window at the same time. When it comes time for your meal you can dine with your spouse which makes it very different from the J experience… and quite enjoyable IMHO (of course you can do this in the center too)..
Again… either is pretty good and I would not stress over it either way.
