FWIW, the routings I was looking at (and associated mileages):
10,197 - PHX-LAX-AKL-PER
12,526 - PHX-LAX-SYD-AKL-PER
13,655 - PHX-YVR-SYD-AKL-PER
14,616 - PHX-LAX-NRT-AKL-PER

So the routing I want is less than 1,000 miles more than an "approved" routing. Guess if it comes down to it I'll ask for a supe and see what, if anything, can be done. Maybe I can trade in 2xe500's to cover the overage...
