It isn't about
expecting them to or not. They
have honored them. There are some interesting posts over in the US forum regarding the relevant contract law (I'm not a lawyer but it all makes sense to me.)
Now that they've decided they don't like the number of miles that some people collected they're threatening to
retroactively rescind the bonuses. It's sort of like going to WalMart, buying a cart load of toilet tissue, and having the store manager knock on your door a month later to take it all back because there was "a limit of 1 per customer".

Great info! US has no language along those lines at time of registration. The phone system actively encourages you to sign up for multiple codes.
The monthly e-mails tell you about many promotions and acknowledges some of those that you're signed up for. Some people got e-mails reflecting US' knowledge that they were participating in multiple simulatneous "Get Out More" (and other) promotions.
