The United first suite, both new & current are both more open plan. The major complaints with with the Contour Premium Seat adopted by Virgin & Air New Zealand is that it can be very claustrophobic due to the high walls etc. Also, the window seats are next to impossible to look out of, the angle will result in a V sore neck. CX pax have highlighted this issue with their new business class which adopts the same herringbone layout. However, the bed space on both is pretty much the same.
