One point of data does not make a trend but, for what it's worth, I flew via DFW to connect to San Diego. Dreadful.

A long queue at Immigration, followed by an hour in Special Processing, or whatever it is called: barked at by US goons; no explanations as to why I was there, how long it would take; passport taken and return with the spine broken and lamination peeled back (so I had to get a new one); connection missed, had to downgrade from YUP in F to the very back of the bus to get to SD at all.

This was only alleviated by my being sat next in Y to a Marine recruit off to induction in San Diego, and knowing that my hell would end on landing while his was just beginning (and he already been flying for 36h around the USA on some crazy military routing!).

Fly to SFO and drive down or get a cab. It's only 70 miles.
