So I was trying to get a J ticket on CA using my UAL miles on the route GRU-MAD-GRU. The call center got me reserved and all that, but could not actually ticket me. The agent kept on saying that CA needs to be ticketed immediately ... and since GRU-MAD-GRU is a paper ticket, the only way to actually issue these is via going to the airport. Is there a grain of truth to this? Any help would be much appreciated.
