It seemed a bit windy in DCA on the arrival, but I was always under the impression that the slot issue at DCA kept the overall numbers for arrivals and departures under what the airport could take in an hour under all but zero viz conditions. BoeingBoy probably has better info than I here. In any case, I found it troubling that they nuked an 8pm departure at 2.30--you could fly in a spare 319 from CLT or PIT in that amount of time (that assumes the old level of caring about the shuttle operation, which apparently died some time ago).

There's little reason NOT to jump, IMO. In DC I'm a metro-user and DL is right there when you come off the platform. Simple convenient. Good for the waistline since it's further from the Legal at DCA.
I can usually sneak by the Legal without much damage at DCA, provided that I'm not sitting out a delay--I prefer the club since it's inside security. Now, if I have an hour to kill........
