Regarding lodging there have been two places so far that wouldn't rent to me and in both occasions I was able to find a room elsewhere. I think it is outrageous that a hotel or motel would refuse to rent to someone who does not have plastic.

Regarding rental cars if it is necessary for me to rent a car I will ask the company I contract to rent one for me. I do understand that NY state has a law making it illegal for car rental companies to refuse rental to someone without credit card. I don't know if any other states have that.

So far I paid cash only once for ticket that was F9 at SLC and the person at the desk was not at first able to make correct change. Eventually he did. I did not get the SSSS. Perhaps using my FF# helped.
