Euro-cheat MFU question [potentially prod-worthy]

Just read thru ShuttleBored's detailed guidelines on MFU and am still fuzzy about something

Say I move my membership address to Germany, but continue to live in Canada, and want to book a YYZ-LHR flight, using MFU from WT+ to CW; should I use ba.com to book as usual, or do I have to call BA (US/Canada centre, or Bremen?)? Will there be other problems in terms of MFU bookings?

As well, would there be problems in booking ex-EU via LHR longhaul flights (I'm banking on promotions such as o/w u/g) that do not originate from Germany?

It'd be great to be able to get to Gold in 08 as a 'euro-cheat', but not so if there were hassles in trying to MFU.

Any pointers will be much appreciated!
