no, i measured the footrest. if the footrest does not match the rest of the seat, hidden in the picture, then it is not lieflat.
20 degrees is very little. it would be nearly impossible to notice a 4 degree angle. it is therefore extremely obvious that it is not a 4 degree angle, because it is very noticeable. by noticeable i mean literally, not as a superlative or whatever, as in you can not possibly be confused that the seat is a fully flat bed at 180 degrees.
in response to the stop in LAX post, not sure why one would be trashed after a flight with a lieflat seat. OTOH as i said i would considering stopping in LAX if AA's flagship F is flatbed, because of that in addition to the ability to pretend the trip is just to NYC instead of HNL. not to mention the ability to dine together as well.
