Angry Why the hell should I stick with Alaska?

I have been Gold for 4 years now and it seems it is really starting to loose its shine.

Is it just me or has Alaska really started to skimp on the fares that are available for upgrades? I fly SEA-DCA 10 times a year and book my trips 6+ months out. 2 years ago, I could always get a confirmed Gold Upgrade. Now they are gone. They are also gone on SEA-MCO flights too. I mean gone. I can search out from now until August and I find planes that are COMPLETELY EMPTY and they don't have a single freakn' seat available for an upgrade?

OHHH, I should stop complaining you might say. Well just for fun, I decided to look on Expedia to see what I am missing. Well for ALL of the flights I am looking at; I can BUY a freakn' First Class ticket on Delta or NWA for the SAME PRICE I am paying for coach seats on Alaska.

I use to be able to justify paying $739 from SEA to DCA, but when I go on Expedia and see flights from SEA to BWI going for $199 round trip and First going for $749; I have to think a minute.

Anyone else notice a sudden lack of upgrade space available on flights?!? I never minded the price, because I use to get upgraded all the time. Without the upgrades I can't see it being worth the $$$.
