I recently spent 3 weeks at the Conrad Istanbul. I didn't originally have a HHonors account when I checked in but the executive floor coordinator there kindly signed me up for one.

The final bill for the stay was around around 7700 YTL with VAT or around 6500 YTL without VAT. 6500 YTL figure should translate into around 5400 USD and at 10 points per 1USD I should be entitled to around 54000 HHonors points, right? If VAT is included when calculating points, it should be even higher.

However, in my HHonors account I only received around 42000 points. Is there any reason why those remaining ~12000 points are not there?

One thing I am worried about is that according to the website, I have to book my trip through Hilton's website to receive points. Per corporate policy, I booked it via the American Express travel agency's website. I'm worried if I bring the missing 12000 points to their attention they may take away all my points since technically I shouldn't have gotten any.

Has anyone been in a similar scenario and if so, what did you do?
