After LOTS of research, the only CFL's made in good ol' USA are produced by a company called Lights of America (www.lightsofamerica.com). All other CFL's I've seen are made in China. There is mercury (though a small amount) in CFL's. With China's track records as of late on lead based paint, I wonder how diligent they are on their mercury claims.

So, support a US company, buy your CFL's from Lights of America. They sell their lights, according to their website, at Costco, Menards, TruServ, Home Depot, Sam's Club, Walmart, Lowe's, Dixieline and others. Check their website out.
