Actually, I have found several govt rates. Sometimes, there is a generic "Govt" rate.....with no restrictions as to which govt. Then, there is a genertic "State govt" rate.....with no restrictions as to which state govt. Then, the expected "Fed Govt" rate, which is valid for fed govt employees (but not contracted vendors). And then, there are "State Govt" rates which, when checking the T&Cs, specify that you have to be an employee of the state govt--the state in which the property is located.
I have been denied the State govt rate at several properties (ie, Sheraton CLT) which limits the govt rate only to employees of the State of NC.
