For a long time, the only international passenger service from Memphis was to Grand Cayman. Now there is service to Amsterdam (and none to Cayman, IIRC). If I'm there when an AMS flight is loading I wander down the concourse so I can experience the cognitive dissonance of hearing Dutch spoken while smelling barbecue.

Of course, most passengers don't appreciate the massive freight operation going on at FedEx, at the other end of the airport grounds. This is a massive international hub-and-spoke operation that never sees the inside of the passenger terminal, except of course for repositioning of crews via passenger airlines.
