I am taking UA SFO-LHR, connecting to AF to CDG. I have about a 3 hour connection. I always think its a better bet to carry the bag until LHR and turn it over there, (i will transfer landside) but it would be nice not to carry it. any experience about how well baggage transfers work on a route like this? thx. tom
I have experience with checking in a bag on UA through CDG and then on to an AF flight. The flights were on different PNRs, and the bag didn't make it (possibly because I used the AF kiosk to check in in CDG rather than talking to a real person and asking them to make sure the bag would be loaded). If the flights had been on the same PNR I think the chances are that the bag would have made it.
