In my own experience, the priority tag is useless in DUB, LHR, ARN, OSL, CPH, ZRH, IAD, SFO, CDG... and so on. The only place I've seen it work is FRA with LH. Many times in Dublin, the check-in staff don't bother to put the tag on it.

If it's a benefit, then it should work and we should know how BMI (and their handling agents) expect it to work.

My thoughts exactly. I'm assuming I will get nowhere, file a claim, which they won't contest (will cost them more than paying out) and I'll get £20 which is a waste of everyone's time. If I can get it to court and establish a precedent of £10 a bag, then everyone whose bag isn't handled properly can quote it and BD end up paying out £10 for every bag from this point on. Iit could be the difference between profit and loss for the airline. Who knows it may force them to actually handle the bags properly.
