I know SkyTeam generally tries not to poach, but having CO status helps me not at all and I expect my flying to increase quite a bit this year after the move, so getting status matched would be a tremendous boon. If I can't, I might consider AA since I'm starting from scratch either way then.
With AA, you can get Platinum status by taking the challenge and earning 10,000 EQP's (they're essentially AA's MQM's) in 90 days. Though, AA Platinum is nothing like a DL PE--ideally, you want to hit EXP on AA.
As was pointed out, it's tough to get SkyTeam members to match elite status. However, you raise a good point that you're essentially leaving a CO hub and focusing on cities served by DL; there's no harm in trying for a match. Let us know how it goes.
