A brief update: I was lucky enough to snare an upgrade on the LAX-NRT trip. Made the trip quite comfortable. Landed in NRT and as suggested took the Keisei train and transfered to a local to Asakusabashi. The hotel was easy to find and was just what I wanted for the layover (the room size was equivalent to the size of a restroom in a spa). For my purpose it suited me very well. ^

Took the early morning train to Haneda and arrived on time for checking in. Checkin at ANA premier desk was a breeze. The HND-FUK flight had mechanical delays in HND for an hour cutting my layover in FUK from 2 to 1 hr. Fortunately I had ANA staff waiting for me in FUK to escort me all the way to the international gate for my SQ flight. It is good to fly Business class on ANA/SQ
