I'm looking for ideas. I'm 4,800 miles short of retaining my Gold Medallion Status in 2008. I noticed earlier this month that I would be short, so I upgraded from a Gold to a Platinum AMEX which gives you 5,000 Qualifying miles & 5,000 standard miles "upon first use of the card." I made the first purchase mid month & received the 5,000 standard miles on my Delta statement...but no MQM. I called AMEX & they conference called Delta. AMEX said they sent them over as MQM but Delta said they won't recognize them as such for up to 8 weeks! That's their policy (although the small type isn't clear about that for this program - it does say that for standard miles).
Does anyone have any ideas...contacts...antacids?
