US Airways and United Airlines to Implement Frequent Traveler Program Benefits

ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- US Airways and United Airlines will begin offering reciprocal benefits to members of both airlines' frequent traveler programs effective Nov. 1, 2002, as part of their marketing relationship.

Members of both US Airways Dividend Miles® and United Mileage Plus will be able to earn miles for travel in either program when flying on each other's airline. Members can earn actual flight miles flown or a minimum 500-mile credit for travel on either airline as well as their regional carriers. Members of both programs will also earn respective First Class or Business Class bonuses on the other carrier.
Effective Jan. 1, 2003, flight miles or segments on the other carrier will count towards Dividend Miles Preferred or United Premier status and elite members of each program will receive Preferred or Premier member flight bonuses when flying on the other carrier. Worldwide award travel and other benefits will be coming soon in 2003.

The first tangible benefit of the shared benefits becomes effective Oct. 14, 2002, when members of US Airways Clubs and United Red Carpet Clubs will have access to each carrier's airport lounges.
