It's not just a fare class that disappears-- it's the whole flight. I could understand if the flight I want changes from a T fare to a Y fare, but at least it still would come up as a possibility. I find it very hard to believe that so many flights get sold out and then become un-sold out every few hours or so.
Sorry, I meant to say the cabin was sold out. I have seen this several times in the last few months for the F cabin on transcons I was thinking about booking. The Y cabin that is oversold intentionally is another case.
