Sometimes the number of flight possibilities on a given trip will fluctuate between 5 and 15 flights within an hour of searching.
I have found this problem often on Delta.com. It is not very reliable. I do find that by choosing "search by schedule" the flights usually do show up at the discounted fare. This is also a problem on award ticket searches.
