Life is just to short to worry about burning miles that far out. Being spontaneous is so much better for me. So I give a big "WHO CARES" on the skychoice thing. I'd rather Delta sell every last seat they can on flights they can because I want them around and making money for years to come.
This is so contradictory it isn't funny. You don't like to plan that far in advance. Well, good luck getting SkySaver OR SkyChoice in the future. I too want Delta to make money. I NEVER forget that. But I also can't forget what I get out of this deal.

I love the positive changes that have been made that allow PMs to change award tickets without fees, and re-deposit miles on cancelled tickets without fees. I think the DL-AF alliance will allow us even more opportunities to redeem miles easily online, and to find AF award seats without calling in.

Look at how awful F class is domestically with upgrades for everyone for free! If you want to fly in BE, pay for BE with miles, certificates or $$$. Now once a year it might be nice to be able to book a BE ticket with an upgrade cert from any coach fare. I think DL could do a better job at that, rather than just YBM fares.
Delta made their choice on this a long, long time ago.
I think Delta is starting to cater to a younger, more hip crowd. We don't plan ahead, we want maximum value for our miles, and we want to do it easily, online. While they've got a way to go, I can see why they're making some changes, and for me, the've been mostly positive so far.[/QUOTE]
