As an EXP, do you not sit in coach because of op-ups, complimentary status upgrades, VIPs, or what? Is this domestic or international flying?

I've had a pretty good track record with complimentary status upgrades for my domestic flights, but so far not a single op-up on AA (and only one on any other carrier, which was CX). Since status upgrades are a defined benefit, I don't count them as op-ups.
