I also got the $109 rate over Christmas and was upgraded to a renewal room. Be sure to ask for one -- the renewal room numbers end with "33."
Also, there is no SkyWay (NOT "skywalk") that connects directly into any light rail station (the LR station is in the
middle of 5th Street). But the Nicollet Mall LR station is only a block and a half from the Westin. You can either walk outside from 5th Street to 6th & Marquette (easiest way) or enter the Neiman Marcus department store directly across the tracks from the Nicollet Mall LR station and take the SkyWay to the Westin. Once inside Neiman Marcus, take the escalator to the second floor and turn left at the SkyWay entrance as you exit the store. You will see a sign that says "To Westin Hotel." Just follow the directions.
The Target Center is near the Warehouse District LR station (one stop after Nicollet Mall) and nowhere near the hotel.
