interesting to know! but does it mean that other airlines are not considering it as the safety issue? how about other hot meals?

IIRC, it has nothing to do with the effort but as a safety issue. It has something to do with smoke in the cabin caused by overheated bread on more than one occasion. It may occur on other carriers too but I think AC took the decision to remove that feature from the service.
