The only negative I see is if you're flight doesn't arrive on time. You need to be at the gate area 30 minutes prior to leaving. Just do web check in thru Copa website !

Around 11-2pm the airport can be full of passengers waiting to check in/go thru immigration for Lan flights to Madrid and New York leaving around 2-2:30pm, causing long lines at immigration.

If you do web check-in thru Copa website, and if you're flight arrives on time, then it's perfectly ok.
