Bill's criticism of the snack box is the first one I've seen around here. Everywhere else, there's nothing but gushing praise.
I wanted to buy one last time I flew AS, but I always end up on the flights where they don't sell them.
How similar are they to DL's snack packs? Those are halfway decent (I like the peppercorn cheese spread), but best of all, they're free. If AS's are at least as good as the DL ones, then I might be willing to spend $5 on it if I were hungry.
I haven't been a major complainer about the loss of food service on airlines because food available for purchase at most airports (including SEA, though my favorite is Fuddrucker's at BOS) is better than airline food ever was and is easily obtainable on all but the tightest connections, but I agree that [especially paid] F deserves something a little better...
