So, this trip I was able, for the first time, to use my 500milers for upgrade (SEA-LAX). Previously, I have used miles or sat in coach, as the other planes and the small 1st section always go to the higher status flyers (which makes sense to me).

I almost didn't even ask this time (I've come accustomed to the usuall announcement regarding 1st full), until about 5 minutes before boarding. BINGO!

Hah! Now I'm thinking that I should seek out the 757 and other routes with the larger sections for upgrades.

As always, I could use the advice. I'm sure others would find this info helpful, too!
Or is there a way to search routes by plane type?
