BA full service airline
BA is a full service airline. Fog is not unusual. Disruption is not unusual. What has happened is that the airline has cut the number of staff available to deal with disruption and the unions do not allow cross training or cross deployment of staff to deal with the issues.
The airline does not have a plan which rolls into action for dealing with cancellations of a specific flight, it relies on tactical decision making by its staff. Not enough staff and relatively large disruption means the system falls apart.
Can somebody remind me, was there once a Great in front of Britain? Did we once have strategic planners?
