Sorry yeh talking about the Newark Marriott, but for the return as I've bagged a few upper class rewards on the daytime flight exiting ewr about 8:00.
Plus the cost doesn't seem that much compared to what we pay for similar length flights in business in Europe.
I've stayed in that Marriott lots of times. There isn't much to do there; however, it is a good hotel.
If you have time, I'd suggest renting a car from Hertz at EWR and driving down the Turnpike to Princeton; it's a quaint town with lots of hotels in the area.
